What web-native means for phones and tablets in the yard, the field, and the showroom, and what to test on your own devices.

Web-native is the mobile story
NetView ECO runs in a browser. That is its mobile story: any device with a browser can reach the system, with no install. For a dealer, that means the yard, the service truck, and the showroom can all work in the same system at the same time.
Where mobile matters most
- Yard: check a unit's status and location without walking inside.
- Service truck: techs see and update work orders on site.
- Showroom: reps quote from real unit data at the counter or the lot.
- Owner: check the dashboard from anywhere.
Test on your own devices
Do not test mobile on the vendor's demo laptop. Bring the phone and tablet your team actually uses. Open a work order. Look up a part. Build a quote. If it is painful on your device, it will be painful every day.
What to ask
- Is every screen mobile-friendly, or only some?
- Does anything need a separate app install?
- What happens when the yard has bad signal?
- Can photos attach to units and work orders from a phone?
- Are there features that only work on a desktop?
Worked example
A customer on the lot asks about a used skid steer. The rep pulls the unit up on her phone: hours, price, photos, and inspection notes. She builds the quote standing next to the machine. The customer signs before his truck cools off.
A worked task: the bad-signal test
Suggested demo test: do not test mobile on the vendor's laptop. Take your own phone to the edge of your yard where the signal is weak, and look up a unit. Inputs: your phone, your yard, your signal. Expected output: the screen still works, or you learn exactly what stops working. The exception to ask about: which features are desktop-only. A browser system that is mobile-friendly for lookups but desktop-only for quoting is a different product than the demo showed.
Do this week
Ask your team which three tasks they would do from a phone if they could. Test exactly those three, on exactly their phones.
| Where | What to test |
|---|---|
| Yard | Unit lookup and status change on a phone |
| Service truck | Work order update and parts add |
| Showroom | Quote built from a real unit |
| Owner's kitchen table | Dashboard and reports |
