Tools
Run the numbers
Two working tools. A buyer payment guess. A dealer win back guess. Both are examples only.

Machine loan payment
Loan guess that pays down over time. Not a lease. Not a quote. Not a yes from a firm.
Guessed monthly payment
$1,271.93
Amount financed
$58,500
Total of payments. With the big last payment if any.
$76,316
Total interest
$17,816
This uses plain loan math. Taxes are not in it. Insurance is not in it. Firm fees are not in it.
Worked example
A used mini digger for a hardscape crew
- 1. Machine price: $48,000. Money down: $4,800 (ten percent).
- 2. Amount financed: $43,200.
- 3. Guess a 12% sample yearly rate for four years. No fees. No big last payment.
- 4. Estimated payment: $1,137.62 a month. Total interest: $11,406.
This is math only. The sample rate is for the example. It is not an offered rate.
Dealer lost sale win back
Uses only your numbers. No industry bench mark is assumed.
Extra gross profit per year
$74,250
Gross profit per month
$6,188
Deals won back per month
0.75
Gross profit per deal
$8,250
Math. Lost deals times win back rate times sale times margin. This is gross profit. It is not revenue. It is before commissions. It is before overhead.

Guess, not a quote
How to use these numbers
- What this does for a dealer
- It helps a rep talk about a monthly payment before the buyer walks. It also shows what lost deals may cost your store.
- When to use it
- Use it when a buyer asks what the payment would be. Or use it in a sales meeting to size the problem.
- What it is not
- It is not a quote. It is not an offer. It is not a yes from a firm. The yearly rate is your guess. Real terms come only from a funding firm.
- What happens next
- If the buyer wants real terms, send the deal through the dealer portal. A firm reviews it. A firm sets any terms.
- Keep it simple
- Keep the math simple. Change one number at a time. Watch how the payment moves. Then talk with the buyer in plain words.
