NetView ECO implementation and data migration
What moving to NetView ECO involves: DealerCare onboarding, data buckets, training, and a readiness checklist you can export.

The hard part is not the software
Switching a DMS is like moving your whole house while the store stays open. The install is the easy part, and with a web-native system there is barely an install at all. The hard parts are your data, your people's habits, and the first month of go-live.
What DealerCare says
HBS describes DealerCare as covering configuration, onboarding, and live training with your dealership's data. Training with your own data is a real plus: your team learns on customers and units they recognize. Ask what exactly is included and what costs extra.
Your data, in buckets
Customers. Units in stock. Parts with counts and costs per branch. Open work orders. Open quotes. Rental contracts. Balances owed. Because NetView ECO is aimed at multi-location groups, plan each bucket per branch: what moves, what gets cleaned first, and what stays in the old system as read-only history.
A realistic timeline
HBS does not publish a NetView ECO timeline, and we will not invent one. For a mid-size dealer, a careful move is usually measured in months, not weeks. Ask for a written project plan with your store's name on it.
Use the checklist
The checklist below is the same one we would use. Check items off, export to CSV, and bring it to your DealerCare planning meeting. Since DealerCare training uses your own data, the cleaning lines on this list are what make that training stick.
A worked task: scope the DealerCare line
HBS describes DealerCare as configuration, onboarding, and live training with your dealership's data. Suggested exercise: get the DealerCare scope as a written list, and mark each line included or billed separately. Inputs: the DealerCare proposal. Expected output: no surprises between the demo promise and the invoice. The exception to catch: training with your own data is a real plus, but only if your data is clean enough to train on. Dirty data in a training session teaches workarounds, not habits.
Do this week
Start cleaning your customer list now: merge duplicates, fix phones and emails. That work pays off no matter which system you pick.
| Data bucket | Clean before you move? |
|---|---|
| Customers | Merge duplicates, fix phone and email |
| Units | Verify serial numbers, hours, and costs |
| Parts | Count the shelf before you trust the number |
| Open work orders | Finish or move, never lose one |
| Balances owed | Match the books to the penny |
