What is public
Texada runs a public help site with named Equipment CRM articles, including the customer record and the interface layout. A documented product is a real plus: your team can look things up without a ticket. What we could not confirm from public pages on 2026-11-05: staffed support hours, response time promises, and how training is priced. Unconfirmed means we do not know, not that it is bad.
Help articles are not staffed support
A help site is a library. Staffed support is a person who answers. Ask which you get, when, and how fast. For a sales tool, the crunch moments are rollout week and the day a rep cannot log in before a customer visit. Ask how both are handled.
Training questions that matter
- Is training live, recorded, or both?
- Is training priced by session, by person, or included?
- Do reps hired later get training?
- Is there a practice area where reps can learn safely?
- Who do we call in week one after rollout?
The reference check
Texada's CRM Core page highlights Ohio Cat. Ask for two references near your size and call them. Ask one question: when a rep hits a problem before a customer visit, what happens? The answer tells you more than any brochure.
Write it into the deal
Support hours, channels, response targets, and training sessions belong in the contract. Friendly promises in a demo are not a contract.
A worked task: the new-rep question
Suggested exercise: ask the vendor to describe exactly what happens when you hire a rep six months after rollout. Inputs: one future hire. Expected output: a specific answer — what training exists, what it costs, and how fast a new rep becomes productive. The exception to probe: rollout training covers the first team, but dealer sales teams turn over. A CRM with no new-hire path gets weaker every year you own it.
Do this week
Read two help articles from Texada's public site. If your team can answer real questions from the help site alone, that is a support channel you already have.
| Term | What it really means |
|---|---|
| Help site | Self-serve articles and guides |
| Staffed support | A person answers during set hours |
| SLA | A written promise on response time |
| Practice area | A safe copy to learn in |
| Rollout support | Extra help in the first weeks |
