Texada Equipment CRM and your DMS: the connection questions
A sales CRM works beside your DMS, not instead of it. What to ask about the connection between Texada Equipment CRM and your system.

Two systems, two jobs
Your DMS runs the store: units, parts, service, invoices. The CRM runs the chase: leads, calls, follow-up. The connection between them is what stops double typing. When a deal closes in the CRM, the customer and the unit should already exist in the DMS, or flow into it without re-typing.
What to ask Texada
- Which DMS systems does Equipment CRM connect to, in writing?
- Does the connection pull unit and customer data, push closed deals, or both?
- Is the connection live or a nightly file?
- Is the connection included or priced separately?
- Who maintains the connection when either side changes?
Real pipe versus buzzword
We integrate can mean three very different things: a nightly file, a live connection, or we will build it for a fee. Ask which one your DMS gets. A nightly customer sync is fine for lists. It is not fine when a rep quotes a unit that sold this morning.
The rekeying audit
Count the double-typing between your sales follow-up and your DMS today. Customer details typed twice, unit details copied into emails, sold units still showing as available. Use the tool below to put dollars on it. That is the budget a real connection has to beat.
A worked task: map the double-entry
Suggested exercise: pick one sold deal from last month and list every place its customer and unit data was typed. Inputs: one deal jacket. Expected output: a count — most dealers find three to five re-typed spots. The exception that changes the answer: if your DMS is also Texada's, the connection story may be different from a third-party DMS. Ask for your exact pairing, in writing, not the general answer.
Do this week
Write down your DMS name and version. The connection question cannot be answered without it, and vendors give better answers to specific questions.
| Type | What it means | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Manual export | You download and upload files | Rare, low-volume tasks |
| Nightly file | Data syncs once a day | Customer lists, catalogs |
| Live connection | Data moves when things happen | Unit availability, closed deals |
| Built-in module | No pipe needed, same system | Anything inside one product |
Rekeying cost tool
Count the records your team types twice each month. Entered numbers only; illustrative defaults.
| Hours re-typing per month | 6.0 |
| Labor value of that time | $180 |
| Monthly total (labor + software) | $380 |
| Scenario cost per funded dealRe-typing labor plus the software cost you entered only. Not your full cost to close a deal. | $38.00 |
