What an opportunity is
An opportunity is a possible deal: this customer, this machine, this stage. A pipeline is every opportunity your team is working, sorted so a manager can see the whole board. Texada's public pages describe opportunity views as a core part of Equipment CRM.
Why the pipeline view matters
Without a pipeline, a manager finds out a deal died when the customer buys from a competitor. With one, the manager sees the quote that sat untouched for nine days and asks about it today. The view does not close deals. It makes neglect visible while there is still time to fix it.
What to check in the demo
- Can you see every open opportunity with its age and next step?
- Can you sort by rep, by brand, or by deal size?
- Does an opportunity link to the customer's equipment and history?
- Can you see which opportunities have no follow-up logged?
- Can a rep update a stage from a phone in the yard?
A follow-up what-if
Use the tool below with your own numbers: leads per month, a small lift in conversion, average gross profit per deal, and the CRM's monthly cost. If a visible pipeline won even one extra deal a month, what is that worth? It is a what-if, not a promise. The pipeline shows the work; your reps still do it.
A worked task: the nine-day quote
Suggested demo test: find one of your real quotes that sat untouched for over a week, and ask the vendor to show how that quote would look in the pipeline. Inputs: one stale quote. Expected output: the quote visible with its age, its owner, and its next step, without anyone running a report. The exception to probe: a pipeline that only shows deals reps remembered to enter. Ask what catches a quote that was never logged, because that is the deal you are losing today.
Do this week
Count your open quotes right now and how old the oldest one is. If that took more than five minutes, you have measured the problem this product solves.
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| New lead | Someone asked about a machine |
| Working | A rep is talking with them |
| Quoted | A written price went out |
| Financing | The money side is being worked |
| Won or lost | Deal closed or dead, with a reason |
Follow-up what-if tool
A what-if scenario, not a promise. Better follow-up may not cause more sales. Entered numbers only; illustrative defaults.
| Extra deals per month (scenario) | 1.0 |
| Gross profit from those deals | $2,000 |
| Net after software cost | $1,500 |
