SalesLink explained: the old name for Texada Equipment CRM

SalesLink is the former name of Texada Equipment CRM. What changed, what stayed, and how to read old articles about it.

Same family, new name

SalesLink was the original name of Texada's equipment sales CRM. Texada's current help files document the product as Equipment CRM, including a user interface overhaul with named screens. If a rep, a forum post, or an old brochure says SalesLink, they mean this product family.

Why the name matters to you

Old names create two risks. First, old reviews may describe screens that no longer exist. Second, you may find a different company's product with a similar name. Check the date and the vendor on anything you read. Texada's own help site is the safest source because it documents the current product.

What the help files show

The public help files cover the customer record and the interface layout. That means you can read how accounts and activities are organized before a demo. Few CRM vendors show this much. Use it: read the customers help page, then ask the demonstrator to show you the same screens live.

What to ask

  • Is what we are quoted the current Equipment CRM, and which edition?
  • Are there customers still on the old SalesLink version, and what changes for them?
  • Which help articles match the version we would get?
  • What is the upgrade path if the interface changes again?

A worked task: the documentation read-through

Texada's help files are public, so use them. Suggested exercise: read the customers help article and the interface article, then write three questions about screens you saw. Inputs: thirty minutes and the help site. Expected output: a demo where you ask about specific screens instead of watching a generic tour. The exception to remember: help files describe the documented edition, so confirm the version you are quoted matches what you read.

Do this week

Search for old SalesLink reviews and check each one's date. Anything from before the current interface describes a product you will not be buying.

Old name versus current name, in plain words.
