DIS Quantum review: one system for the whole dealership

A plain-English look at DIS Quantum: what it does, who it fits, what the vendor numbers really mean, and what to ask in a demo.

Based on public product documentation. We have not tested a private account. Sources checked 2026-11-05. Product names belong to their owners; this is an independent guide, not an endorsement.

What it is

DIS Quantum is a dealer management system, or DMS. A DMS is one system that runs the whole store: sales, service, parts and inventory, rental fleet, financial management, and CRM. DIS stands for Dealer Information Systems. It says Quantum is built for agriculture, construction, and industrial equipment dealers across North America.

What the vendor says

The Quantum page lists sales, service, parts and inventory, rental, financial management, and CRM in one platform. It also says Quantum integrates with major OEMs including CNH, Kubota, and AGCO for parts ordering, pricing updates, and service workflows. OEM means the factory that built the machine.

Read the big numbers carefully

DIS's family homepage says 750 dealers, 2,400 locations, and 19,000 users. That covers all DIS products across North America, not Quantum alone. It shows the company is established. It does not tell you how many stores run Quantum itself. Ask for Quantum-specific references.

Words you will hear

  • DMS: dealer management system. One system that runs the whole store.
  • OEM connection: a live link to the factory for parts ordering, price updates, and warranty work.
  • CRM: customer relationship management. The system that remembers every lead, call, and quote.
  • Module: one part of the system, like rental or CRM. Often priced separately.

Who uses it

The Quantum agriculture page shows testimonials from Alderman's Inc. and Centre Agricole, and the Quantum overview shows Wholesale Industrial Parts. These are vendor-published testimonials, not our own checks. Ask for a reference dealer near your size and brand mix.

Where to be careful

  • No public price was found on the pages we checked on 2026-11-05. Ask for a written quote.
  • QuipWare is a separate related DIS product. Do not assume its features are in Quantum.
  • Family-wide user counts are not Quantum-only counts.
  • We did not test a private account. This guide is from public documents only.

Which dealers it fits

Quantum's public pages speak to ag, construction, and industrial equipment dealers, with named OEM connections for CNH, Kubota, and AGCO. If those are your brands, the factory links alone make it worth a look. A pure outdoor power shop selling mowers and handhelds should ask which of its brands connect, because the named list leans toward bigger iron. Single-store and multi-store dealers are both in the vendor's picture; ask for references that match your store count.

A realistic demo scenario

Suggested script: start at the parts counter. Look up a part, check your stock, then check the factory's stock through the OEM connection and place the order without leaving the screen. Then move to sales: quote a used tractor from a real unit record, with hours and serial number filled in by the system. Finish in service: open a work order on that same unit and watch its history appear. Three departments, one unit record, no re-typing. That is the whole promise, so watch it end to end.

Cost questions to bring

No public price was found on the pages we checked on 2026-11-05. Ask for a line-item quote: base system, each department module, each OEM connection, migration, training, and monthly support. Ask whether the CRM is included or separate, and whether QuipWare or other DIS products are being quoted alongside Quantum — and why. Compare three-year totals across vendors, not monthly fees.

Our honest take

DIS is an established company, and Quantum's published scope covers the whole dealership. The named OEM connections are a real strength if they match your brands. The cautions: the big user counts on the homepage cover all DIS products, not Quantum alone, and the testimonials are vendor-published. Get Quantum-specific references, confirm the OEM links for your exact brands, and run the demo script above before you decide. If the parts counter, the sales desk, and the shop all touch one unit record without re-typing, you are looking at the real thing.
