Sales settlement
Anvil Pro sales settlement: finishing the deal
What settlement means in an equipment sale, how Anvil Pro covers it, and where the DMS takes back over.

What settlement is
Settlement is the finish line of the sale: the final numbers, the trade payoff, the signatures, and the paperwork that lets the machine leave the yard. When settlement lives in the same system as the quote, the final numbers match the quoted numbers. When it lives in a separate pile, they drift.
What to verify
Anvil Pro lists settlement as part of its flow, but your DMS still owns the invoice and the books. Ask exactly where the handoff happens: what data moves from Anvil Pro to your DMS at settlement, and what someone still types by hand. That handoff is the seam to inspect.
What to test in the demo
- Take a quoted deal to settlement and watch the numbers carry over.
- See the trade payoff in the final figures.
- Find the settled deal from the customer record later.
- Ask what changes in the DMS when settlement completes.
- Ask what happens when a deal unwinds after settlement.
The payback math
Settlement tools pay back through fewer re-typed deals and fewer number mismatches at the finish line. Use the tool below: one-time setup cost, monthly savings you expect, and any added monthly cost. If savings do not beat the added cost, the honest answer is: not yet.
A worked task: the unwind test
Suggested demo test: settle a deal, then ask what happens when it unwinds — the buyer's financing fell through or the trade was misdescribed. Inputs: one settled test deal. Expected output: a clear path back that does not corrupt the books. The exception to inspect: the DMS handoff. Ask what your DMS receives at settlement and what someone still types, because that seam is where errors and double entry live.
Do this week
Ask your office how long settlement paperwork takes per deal today. That minutes-per-deal number is what this part of the product has to beat.
| Stage | What should happen |
|---|---|
| Final numbers | Quote, programs, and trade math agree |
| Payoff | Trade payoff is in the figures |
| Signatures | Documents signed against the same record |
| Handoff | DMS gets the deal without re-typing |
