What TargetCRM is
TargetCRM is Ideal's customer relationship management product. CRM is the notebook that remembers every lead, call, quote, and promise. Ideal says TargetCRM synchronizes customer, transaction, and inventory records with the DMS. That means the CRM sees what the customer bought, what they own, and what is in stock, without anyone typing it twice.
The communication piece
Ideal says TargetCRM offers SMS, email, and Facebook Messenger communication. For an OPE dealer, texting is the big one. Customers answer texts. A service-is-done text or a your-part-arrived text saves a phone call both ways.
What the vendor's customers say
Ideal's TargetCRM page quotes Matt Bridges, owner of 3B Outdoor Equipment, saying the system made everyone trackable and cut human error. That is a vendor-published testimonial, not our check. Ask to speak with a dealer like him yourself.
What to test in the demo
- Build a customer list from sales history, like everyone who bought a mower three years ago.
- Send a text to a test customer from inside the system.
- See the reply land on the customer record.
- Check how customer consent for texting is recorded.
- Ask what messages cost and what the limits are.
A follow-up what-if
Use the tool below with your own numbers: leads per month, a small lift in conversion, average gross profit per deal, and TargetCRM's monthly cost including messaging. If a texted follow-up won even one extra deal a month, what is that worth? It is a what-if, not a promise. The CRM sends the reminder; your team still earns the sale.
A worked task: the service-pickup text
Suggested demo test: a customer's mower is ready for pickup. Send the text from inside TargetCRM, have the customer reply with a question, and watch the reply land on the customer record next to their units and service history. Inputs: one test customer with a real unit. Expected output: a two-way conversation attached to the record, not trapped on a rep's personal phone. The exception to verify: consent. Ask how TargetCRM records a customer's permission to text and how opt-outs are handled, because texting without consent is a legal problem, not a feature.
Do this week
Count how many pickup and status calls your counter makes in a day. Each one is a text this workflow could replace, and the count sizes the value.
| Feature | What public pages say | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Record sync | Customer, transaction, and inventory records sync with the DMS | How often sync runs |
| SMS | Two-way texting listed | Per-message cost and consent handling |
| Email communication listed | Templates and tracking | |
| Messenger | Facebook Messenger listed | Setup requirements |
| Lists | Customer lists by sales history, interest, or lifecycle | Build one live in the demo |
Follow-up what-if tool
A what-if scenario, not a promise. Better follow-up may not cause more sales. Entered numbers only; illustrative defaults.
| Extra deals per month (scenario) | 1.0 |
| Gross profit from those deals | $2,000 |
| Net after software cost | $1,500 |
