Implementation

Flyntlok implementation: the first ninety days

What moving to Flyntlok really involves: data, training, go-live timing for seasonal stores, and a checklist you can export.

Based on public product documentation. We have not tested a private account. Sources checked 2026-11-05. Product names belong to their owners; this is an independent guide, not an endorsement.

A DMS move is a company project

Moving to a new DMS is not an IT job. It is a company project. Every department changes how it works on the same day. The dealers who do this well name one person to own the project, clean their data early, and train by department. The ones who do it badly treat it as a software install.

Pick your slow season

If your store is seasonal, the calendar is a migration decision. A go-live in the slow months gives your team room to learn. A go-live at your spring rush is how you end up with a revolt. Ask Flyntlok what they recommend, and be suspicious of any plan that lands your first week in your busiest month.

What to ask

  • Who runs the project on the vendor side, and how many dealers have they moved?
  • How many test loads do we get before go-live?
  • What training is included, on site or remote?
  • What does week one support look like?
  • Can we run old and new side by side for a month?

A realistic timeline

Flyntlok does not publish an implementation timeline, and we will not invent one. For a mid-size dealer, a careful move is usually measured in months, not weeks. Ask for a written project plan with your store's name on it.

A worked task: the department interviews

Suggested exercise: before configuration, have each department head describe their day to the vendor — counter, shop, yard, office. Inputs: four honest conversations. Expected output: a setup built on how your store actually works. The exception that sinks go-lives: configuring from the org chart instead of the work. The counter's real Saturday is not in any org chart, and the system has to survive it.

Do this week

Mark your four busiest weeks and your four slowest on a calendar. The slow ones are your go-live candidates, and the busy ones are off limits.
