What is public

VitalEdge publishes product pages, webinars, and a customer awards program, which shows an active customer base. What we could not confirm from public pages on 2026-11-05: staffed support hours, response time promises, and how training is priced. Unconfirmed means we do not know, not that it is bad.

ERP support is different

With an ERP, a support question can touch accounting rules, not just buttons. Ask who answers: a general help desk, or people who know dealer accounting. For a multi-branch group, the difference shows up fast at month end.

Training questions that matter

  • Is training on site, remote, or both?
  • Is it priced by day, by person, or included?
  • Do later new hires get training?
  • Is there a practice copy of the system?
  • What does go-live week support look like?

The reference check

VitalEdge's 2026 awards named real dealer groups on e-Emphasys. Ask for two references near your size and call them. Ask: when something breaks at month end, what happens? The answer is worth more than any brochure.

Write it into the deal

For an ERP, also write down who answers accounting questions: a general help desk or people who know dealer books. Support hours, channels, response targets, and training days belong in the contract too. Friendly promises in a demo are not a contract.

A worked task: the month-end question

Ask two reference dealer groups this specific question: something in the books looked wrong at month end — who answered, and did they understand dealer accounting? Expected output: two stories that tell you whether support is a general help desk or people who know why a branch roll-up failed. The exception to probe: ERP support questions often touch accounting rules, not buttons. A fast answer from someone who does not understand the books is not support, it is a delay.

Do this week

List your three scariest support scenarios: month-end close, year-end, and a branch go-live. Ask the vendor to describe the support plan for each one specifically.
