CRM, in plain words

CRM stands for customer relationship management. It is the notebook that remembers every lead, call, quote, and promise. c-Systems lists CRM on its homepage with two-way SMS (texting), customer mailing labels, and email correspondence.

Why texting matters at an equipment store

Customers answer texts. A your-mower-is-ready text or a your-part-arrived text saves a phone call both ways. Two-way means the customer can text back and the reply lands on their record, not on a rep's personal phone.

What to test in the demo

  • Send a text to a test customer from inside the system.
  • See the reply land on the customer record.
  • Build a list: everyone who bought a mower three-plus years ago.
  • Check how customer consent for texting is recorded.
  • Ask what messages cost and what the limits are.

A follow-up what-if

Use the tool below with your own numbers: leads per month, a small lift in conversion, average gross profit per deal, and the monthly CRM and texting cost. If a timely text won even one extra deal a month, what is that worth? It is a what-if, not a promise. Two-way texting keeps the conversation on the record; your reps still have to send it.

Worked example

A dealer builds a list of commercial mowing customers whose machines are four years old. A text goes out before spring about trade-in timing. Eight replies come back. Two become quotes. The list did the remembering. The reps did the selling.

A worked task: the reply test

c-Systems lists two-way texting, so suggested demo test: text a test customer from the CRM, reply from the customer's phone, and find the reply. Inputs: one test customer. Expected output: the reply on the customer record, visible to any rep, not just the one who sent the text. The exception to verify: consent recording and opt-out handling. Two-way texting is a real asset only if the legal side is handled inside the system, so ask to see exactly where consent lives on the record.

Do this week

Count how many customer conversations currently live on your reps' personal phones. Every one is a conversation the store does not own.
